Hot Pieces of Ace! Coming out, and Romance v Friendships

I've been officially recruited as a vlogger on the phenominal Hot Pieces of Ace. Hopefully this will finally get me off my butt and generating Ace-relevant content. (I've been giving my love to my other blog.) Here are two videos, I'll post more as the weeks go on.

Re: a comment you made in the first video...I am a dorky asexual anthropologist who totally wants to read your thesis.

Your videos rock, and so does this blog (: Your posts have helped me out a lot, not to mention that they're interesting to read and watch. Stay asexy!

Do you have Asperger's? I was wondering because of your mannerisms and lack of eye-contact?

Nah, I'm just not used to making eye contact with an iPhone camera.

Whoaie, a lot of that went over my head. But I think I saw you on like Good Morning America or something a few years ago and it was really eye opening /inspiring.

Just wanted to thank you... so much... for everything you've done for the asexual community. If I hadn't stumbled across AVEN I'd probably be paying a psychiatrist to figure out what's wrong with me that I don't get sexually attracted to people and never have...

I see myself as a sort of bystander in this. I am not asexual, although I guess sex is becoming, over time, for me, less of the "all consuming force" it was 30 years ago. AFAIK I do not know any asexual people, except perhaps older people whose sexuality has waned or ultimately (perhaps) disappeared. (You made me wonder though: opened my mind a little about how some other younger people might be.)

But anyway, I found that video fascinating. Looks like a topic - a situation, "a problem" - into which you have invested some serious mental and emotional energy. I get the feeling that you have "won" - that is, through experience, imagination, and careful reflection, you have discovered some good answers and methods, and my guess is that your sharing them so widely is an act of significant value to many others.

Congratulations, and take care.

Gradients! Yes. I agree that our boxes are insufficient. (For a lot of things.)

@ DJ,
Thank you for your good explanations...I am more likely to understand about the word "asexual". I am afraid that I am falling in love with an asexual man.
Would you please tell me why an asexual man (he) wants a non-asexual woman (me) to be his life partner??? Is there a kind of real LOVE or just a game???
Please help me to figure out. I don't know if he is worthy for me to sacrifice myself.
Thank you!!!
